Lesedi-Lechabile MEP will be hosting a soccer tournament for adult men in June. The programme will include focus group discussions around the Brothers for Life values prior to the knock-out games. Issues at hand include STIs and the link to HIV, gender-based violence, male circumcision promotion, voluntary HIV counseling and testing (VCT) promotion, and prostate cancer screening for adult men. The Brothers for Life manifesto will be presented at the final matches, and men who support the values that the campaign is trying to address will be offered an opportunity to sign a pledge to show their support and commitment.
Yenza Kahle – Brothers for Life is a SANAC-led awareness campaign that targets adult men in the fight against HIV. Funded by USAID/PEPFAR and implemented by Johns Hopkins Health and Education in South Africa (JHHESA), Sonke Gender Justice, the National Department of Health and 40 other civil society partners, Brothers for Life aims to reach adult men and engage them about the values that define a Brother for Life in relation to HIV prevention.
